The ‘Beat’
I spoke to my two remaining brothers on the phone. I needed to tell them about the shitstorm that managed to screw up our Christmas.
Elder brother first. He told me in no uncertain terms he knew about Covid long before it hit and loads more things he knew before anyone else did! Of course the call ended as it started.... downbeat!
WTF!
Then called younger brother. We laughed a lot, quipped a lot and bantered about all the good stuff. Scoring points off each other left and right... ’upbeat!’
Yep, a trio of smartarses! Our only difference... the ’beat’.

Thanks Verity. However, I’m CV-19 positive but unsymptomatic. Mrs H on the other hand is in the bedroom below hopefully recovering from a surgery that went wrong. I cook for and wait on her... in my mask, at distance! Hope I test negative soon so I can give her the welcome home hug we both long for.🤞

Thanks Verity. Virtual hugs received! Ah, that’s better. We are gramps, but make no mistake, we are young working gramps! The only good thing about Corrine’s stay in hospital was that the nurses got together to tell her how they couldn’t believe the age that the notes said she was! (but then her facial architecture does make her look young! Lucky her... and lucky me!😁)

Verity, I’ll show you what she looks like in two days time, the anniversary of the night we met and fell in love at first sight. I went home that very night and said to my mum “I think this is the one!” And I was right, even though she was only 16 (and I wasn’t a great deal older!). I took the photo while she was on the phone this time last year.
