They were under orders,
From their master great Odin.
They were off together.
Their mission to begin
This fearsome band of ladies
Rode and sometimes flew
Kitted out for battle
With a splash of warpaint too.
Then at the field of battle
Where men had gone though hell
They selected those they fancied
And gave them heaven as well.
They kept the very bravest
And gave them life again
Sent others to Valhalla
That home for heroic men.
But those men lacking courage
Though surviving to the end
The savage ladies struck them down...

(Listened to Wagner’s Die Walküre on the radio and thought it seemed like a sweet tale.)

You're becoming quite the poet of late, Neville.
"Ride Of The Valkyries" is one of my favorite classical pieces ever (along with Grieg's "In The Hall Of The Mountain King").

Thanks Verity and Christopher. I’m sure you’re both aware that a ‘hen weekend’ = a bachelorette event. They’ve become very popular (and sometimes notorious) over here in Europe!

Sorry, just noticed I didn't vote for this yesterday. I've put it to rights today, though.
