Their first gig since the start of lockdowns. Tonight at The Horn, The 88, a terrific regular cover band, were playing on adrenalin and the crowd was excitable. I arrived late just as they were banging out Mr Brightside really loud. It’d been a killer of an evening and I wished I’d been there from the start. But I was searching for the lead guitarist’s wife. She needed a lift home.

Then the band struck up a House of Pain cover, ‘Jump Around’. Everyone was jumping. I tried too, but my sciatica in my own house of pain said no!

Not the US ‘The 88’ but the St Albans one!

Thanks Verity, it’s a song that you just have to jump around to. Normally it might be OK to join in, but last night at half past Midnight, the dreaded sciatica struck. So my daughter had to come and find me!
