Sitting in the car waiting for the Grimsby fish man to arrive in the village, with my window open, I was looking out casually into my wing mirror.
I wasn’t the only one waiting though. I noticed a single strand of gossamer across the mirror. A tiny fly was caught on the thread, awaiting its fate. But wait... no sign of any predator… or so I thought. Quick as a flash, a tiny spider darted out from behind the mirror and devoured its unsuspecting prey...
‘Ooomph!’
...then scurried back.
Wait a minute... it’s home was behind my mirror. Cheeky bugger!

I love this! You have a talent for beautifully recounting seemingly anodine moments, and a great sense of observation. I especially like the twist as to the spider’s home!

Thanks firefly! I do tend to see things and thoughts in everyday life in terms of Drabble potential... particularly things that make me chuckle. But only if there’s a chance for a smile at the end.
