Out of Reach

The wonderfully wicked Graham Norton left BBC Radio2 last Saturday for Virgin territory... but just a retune away. His finale was his favourite song, Reach by S-Club 7. My eyes welled up.

Over the years I’ve taught thousands of undergraduates, often in large UK lecture theatres, and, annually, an amphitheatre in Montpellier, France to 400+ students.

To engage them and have a bit of fun, I played Reach while the students did 4 minutes of Mexican Wave. I was wavemaster!

My classes are smaller now. Those days are out of Reach. That’s showbiz!
