I visited my music streaming app yesterday. It’s great... virtually any track you can think of appears virtually and bangs out through the sound system. Just what any deep down rock ‘n roller needs.

My ‘Discoveries 2020’ playlist is just that. Songs I’ve discovered and some I’ve rediscovered. I’m quite choosy because my musical taste is quite broad but it all has to work together. I can deal with a switch from Mozart to Madness, but my latest addition might seem like madness itself, but I pretend it’s not. It’s a tribute. ‘I Pretend’, by the late, great Des O’Connor.

What a wonderful man. Even found the time to have 4 wives.

Haha! I’m still on my first... our half century’s on the horizon! Hope we’re not still locked down then, otherwise I might find myself saving money on the celebration!

That really does sound surreal, Drew. I liked Des because he had so much piss taken out of him, but I bet he laughed all the way to the bank. You couldn’t help admiring him. And I actually quite like the words and melody to I Pretend.
My elder son, on reading my Des Tribute now wants to see the contents of my Discoveries 2020 playlist. I’m worried that he might think they’re shit 🥴

Haha! You’re right! But we did share a love of XTC at a time when nobody else seemed to have heard of them. But our tastes diverged a bit when he got into some band fronted by a bloke with a funny hat, called Jay (not the hat!) I seem to remember. A bit too soft for me at the time! I will remember the name after I’ve posted! Sod’s Law!😕

It was Jay Kay and Jamiroqui. (Have to admit to searching for it. It took a while...!)
