If I was a rockstar
If time could be redone
My looks, my moves, my voice
Might get to number one.

If I was a rockstar,
Strutting round the stage
Until my struts were hobbles
And I really showed my age.

If I was quite famous,
With all that fame might bring
Would you still be with me
Proud to wear my ring?

Living as a rockstar
Sex, drugs, rock’n roll
Shallow, mean and unfulfilled
Emptiness of soul.

Begone then shallow rockstar
When all is said and done
I’d rather be right here, right now
With you my number one.

I always wanted to be a rockstar. I practised the moves in front of the mirror, I memorised all the words and I strutted my stuff around my bedroom. And then at 20 I met my wife. Nuff said!

Really nice, Neville. I had those dreams when I was younger too, but eventually realized the foolhardiness of it all.

Sorry I haven't been here in a couple of months. I've just not been myself. I'll catch up with all the writing here soon.

Hi Christopher, thanks. What a relief! I was really worried about you and what with the CV-19 thing still kicking ass over there, I feared you might have had a personal struggle with it. Welcome back. The Drablr community hasn’t been the same without you. Drew has been AWOL for quite some time too. All very worrying. Just me and Frenchie raising flags for Europe right now...

Re the rockstar... at least you were in a band and not just your bedroom! 🥴

Thanks for the concern. I hope Drew is okay. I've been trying to write and just can't seem to get anywhere. I have several Jake Randolph stories started and can't seem to finish any of them. I have two other series' started and can't finish those either. I can't even seem to write a stand alone drabble. I think my time may be up as far as writing goes.

Absolutely not Christopher! You are a talented writer, but every one of the regular writers on Drablr and other sites, including me, have partly or fully shut down there’s something about having so much time available but not being in the mood to use it for writing. Drablr is a bit of a desert right now, but I am sure that will change. I am more guilty than you, Christopher, as my Fedeltà story has ground to a halt, but I want very much to get it in top gear again! You owe it to Jake (and us too maybe) to get back into gear too. No pressure though! ...

Keep with the programme at least for the time being, reading anything Drablrs put up there. You’ll find your mojo again... (I think I am possibly re-finding mine!). Keep your pecker up as we say round here. I like to read what you write.

Thanks, Neville. I appreciate it. I just need to force myself to finish one of those stories. I wonder if I went ahead and started posting one if that would give me the kick in the pants I need to buckle down and finish it.

I think that’s a great idea Christopher start posting... take a risk! I always live on the edge... and it’s exciting! And I find it gathers its own momentum and the likes and comments when one gets them fuel the creative fire. And anyway... who cares if it’s not what you feel is your best... only you probably. You have nothing to prove; you’re a terrific writer... and I love the Jake stories... just the genre I like. Keep the faith!👍👍👍

Oh, and as for the standalones, I find that life, and particularly those amusing or silly things in life provide great material.
