The girls were totally immersed in pinkness at the hen do. Everything not only pink, but extremely pretty, befitting a pretty bride-to-be. Flowers, fun feminine activities, lots of giggliness, and pink, sparkly bottled Prosecco gently consumed. All very gentile, stylish and thought through thanks to the chief bridesmaid and Mrs H.

Contrast this with the blokes’ barbie. Beer, bangers, chicken, buns, to excess. Filthy jokes when the little-uns were in the paddling pool. Water pistols throughout.

Beer from bottles, crisps from packets, hummus from plastic tubs and baked beans straight from the saucepan. That’s living that is!
