Thanks Drew! Yes, my Chinese name has a meaning... it means Neville Hunt! The surname/family name is always first Hu... at the time their President was named Hu too (but isn’t that also a tribe in Rwanda?). The couple of times I went to Beijing they certainly treated me like a dignitary. The Nai Wei is the closest they had to sounding like Neville, but it would be interesting to find out what, if anything, it means. Two of them first met in my class, subsequently married and had a son. When I was in Beijing the second time they told me they had named him Lu Ton, in memory of where they met! Ah... sweet 🥰

Nephew Lucy was prompted by a recent LinkedIn notification about one of my contacts, Elizabeth (Surname) having a work anniversary... but I don’t know any Elizabeth (Surname), never heard of her, certainly not connected with her. But... Thomas (same Surname) was a former student and a LinkedIn contact... so I did some sleuthing and it seems that they are one. The first person I have known to have changed. His/her choice... no problem, but a big surprise!

I checked out the meaning(s) of Hu Nai Wei. It seems that one meaning of Hu is tiger. Nai Wei means not yet capable of enduring/ not yet able to tolerate/ not yet patient. So maybe I’m an impatient tiger! I’m good with that! 🐅

Nice one, Neville. My ex-girlfriend gave me the Chinese name No Long Wang so I gave her the name Yung Fat Ho.
