Moving on
Look not to the past,
The time of used to be
The time already spent
It’s gone, it’s history.
I have no time to rue
The things that I did then
Mistakes I may have made
Lest I make them once again.
Don’t ask me to forgive
Your unkind words long gone
The clock will not untick
It must keep moving on.
Forgiving means reliving
What I’ll happily forget
Time is the forgiver
The thief of time, regret.
For life and time are one
And life that’s lived is gone
I’ve no time to forgive
Instead, I just move on.

Thank you very much Drew for such a positive reaction. It represents the way I am and think. I don’t really buy the concept of forgiveness, but I do move on... not so much forgetting but ignoring anything past on the basis that you can’t unwrite it. And I believe that it’s up to you to forgive yourself, rather than the one you have wronged, who, in forgiving is forced to revisit the reason for forgiveness... if you get what I mean. (There’s a whole essay I could write on it...🙂). Thanks again.

Thoughtful and full of emotion - loved it. Loved it on the first read through as well. It's given me some ideas too which I need to work on. Its also given me food for thought too.
