Dame June, tea and me

She’s been with me all my life. Before we had TV, our family would listen regularly to her character Eth’s “Oh Ron” in The Glums. What a laugh!

From then on she was always in demand until the age of 89. An Ab-Fabulous British treasure.

Arriving at her house in Wimbledon one day in a limousine with her then famous co-star Terry, who had earlier unkindly (perhaps comically) criticised her for drinking tea in a mug, imagine my delight when that lovely, kind and gracious lady invited us in for a cuppa.
