The Beast
There it lies, The Beast. Lying prone on the shelf, looking beastly. It’s coat of browny-blue... menacing!
It’s been lying there for two months, daring me to flip it over. I dared, dared, and dared again. I’ve survived these encounters... so far. I get anxious as I flip it over. I know that once punctured, the oozing will start in earnest. It feels full of ooziness.
And the smell!... well if you were cooped up for two months how would you smell?
Scary! But much scarier were my orders, “The turkey takes precedence for fridge space over your cheese!”

Thanks Christopher. I tried a much smaller ‘sampler’ I made and it was OK, but Mrs H’s orders are that mine can’t be on the cheese board alongside the ‘proper’ cheeses. But I think one or two of the family might give it a go! 🤞🧀
