How not to spend your birthday
J&M plus little H were coming round late afternoon for my roast birthday lunch. Before then we’d be going for a walk, stopping at the Strath for a pint or two, before the downhill walk home, possibly ‘watering’ trees en route. It’s beautiful rolling countryside and the beer would be great. Just perfect for my birthday.
However, two days earlier we got the call... ancient mother-in-law rushed off to hospital 100 miles away. Dropping everything, we sped across country.
‘At death’s door’ apparently as we left, she looked better than ever when we arrived.
Oh well... next year...!

Going to see her again shortly, but out to a restaurant this evening... albeit 100miles from home, because today’s the day🎂

Thanks Drew. She’s looking remarkably good, but Friday’s call suggested she was on the way out, but three cheers for the NHS (whatever the political murmurings)...they’ve got her stable, up and dressed...and as chirpy as she ever gets!

Thanks Steve. She’s a tough old bird... and don’t we know it! But for some reason I’m flavour of the month! I started treating her like a client and that seemed to do the trick. I still ignore everything she tells me to do though!
