I’ve received my school’s latest yearbook this week which I was eagerly awaiting as I’d written an article for it. I’d stumbled upon photos from school plays, staged at the glorious mock-Tudor Maddermarket Theatre and decided to write them up as a whimsical ‘memory lane’ feature.

Generously given a whole page, the main photo is from Marlowe’s Dr Faustus. I’m a Deadly Sin... Sloth, asleep front of stage, until my little brother Gluttony carried me off.

But it’s Pride, that other sin, that’s invaded me now. Please forgive it and my outrageous immodesty as I reach another Drablr milestone.

Congratulations! Wow, 1500! That's quite an achievement. A series can really rack them up. I'd wager that 80% of my drabbles are Jake Randolph stories.

    Here's to the next 1500!

(And I'll catch up on the rest of your drabbles this weekend.)

I just crunched my own numbers because I was curious about my estimation. 82.21% of my drabbles belong to Jake, so I was close in my estimation.

Sorry, that was simply for my benefit!

Thanks Christopher. You’re right, the extended series sure do make a huge difference. My wife disapproves of me drawing people’s attention to milestone achievements, and it‘s not why I write drabbles, but she and I are opposites and I find her modesty mindboggling! But she knows I come from a family of smartarses! 🙂

Good old Jake then! Here’s to his next adventure... we all love Jake! You already must have enough material to fill a book of around 100k words. You can self-publish for almost nothing via Amazon Createspace. I'd definitely buy a copy.

Thanks, Neville. I still haven't looked into that yet.

And I'm in the brainstorming phase of the next Jake adventure.

I don't think it would be out of place to tell the working title-

    Tiki Moon.

(But I'm a good distance away from even starting writing it.)

Lets hope devils don't appear in the pages of the yearbook and your readers don't go mad.

    Congratulations on the 1500 drabbles.

Thanks very much Peter. Mephistopheles and his bully boys, bemasked, were clearly shown up on the balcony so it was just as well I had my eyes closed and was sparko! 🙂

D.M. Thank you for that. More important though is that you are back on Drablr. We have really missed you and I, for one, was worried when you stopped posting, voting and commenting. Your return is more worth cheering about! I am not the only one who will join me to say welcome back! I still remember your drabble on the razor-blade kites. Very tragic and moving.

I second that. Welcome back, D.M.
