It was their latest acquisition and had pride of place in their dining room. It was a large unblemished mahogany dining table, far smarter than our own. They had a tame antique dealer in Baldock feeding them quality stuff for a quality price. We were relative paupers with an additional child. That tiny child was growing and just able to see across the top of the said quality antique table.

We were all standing round admiring it. Meanwhile, our lovely daughter was the other side of the table sinking her tiny teeth into the table rim.

Allegra was absolutely horrified!

    I think they’ve forgiven us...or rather our daughter...but I doubt they’ve forgotten ☹️

Allegra has never forgotten - she’s lying here planning to get her own back. Don’t leave your doors unlocked!
