The stars were out on this dark night. The glitterati not so much glittered as smouldered. As dark as black might be. The men were dark too, dressed in their smart tuxedos. It was the norm, so who knew who was actually declaring “Me too.”

The acceptance speeches reminded us of sexual injustice and the audience nodded and cheered. I couldn’t help wondering, as men of power and influence added their vocal support, how many could also have admitted, guiltily, “Me too!”

As enthusiastically as the women clapped, their faces suggested that maybe they had their own suspicions. Me too.

Brilliant. The same thing happened at the Golden Globes recently. I don't watch that stuff, but I wondered from the clips I saw how many of those people, men and women, knew exactly what Harvey Weinstein and others were doing and sat back and said NOTHING! The hypocrisy is sickening.

Thanks Christopher. Maybe those guys were not guilty of anything, but as they articulated their support, I got a bit of a chill...

They may have never harassed a woman themselves, but there are a whole lot of people in the movie industry that knew what went on behind closed doors and remained silent. And that makes them as culpable for the crime as the perpetrator. Sorry, I'm on a soapbox again.
