My brother and I were holidaying on a Broads cruiser. I was five years younger than him, so he was captain. It meant I got all the crap jobs.

Nonetheless, it was a great holiday, the first time my parents weren’t with us. But I had to do what he said. The coolbox was for’ard. I got the milk every morning. Walking back along the narrow edge of the boat, with the milk, I slipped off the side, sank, surfaced, still holding the bottle.

He didn’t give a shit that I was soaked, just complained that I took my time.

That's an older brother for you. They'll "milk" you for everything they can.

Nice one, Christopher. At the time I was only ‘pint-sized’ so I had to turn the udder cheek. :-) We laughed ourselves senseless afterwards. The Broads (aka the Norfolk Broads) is a beautiful area of rivers and lakes with an impressive and fascinating history. It was my home. It is known for boating holidays, motorised or sailing. Ours as a sailing boat.
