The Declaration

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

My wife made my day today. It was spontaneous and thus caught me unawares. “I know why I love you..” she started.

It couldn’t be my untidiness, for that’s a constant irritation. It couldn’t be the unfinished tasks as I move on to a new passion, for they’re a constant frustration. It couldn’t be my lack of an organised bone in my body, for that’s unforgivable. What would be revealed?

“...it’s because you’re exciting!” she declared.

Exciting! Yes, yes, yes, I’ll take that.

”Beam me up, Scotty... to Cloud Nine!”
