I’ve a morning routine. After attending to my ablutions in the bathroom downstairs, I grab a clean shirt and head upstairs to our bedroom where I get dressed. I do this in a continuing state of semi-consciousness. I’m on auto-pilot, continuing until my first morning cuppa. But before that, there is another part of the routine. I make our bed.
Mrs H has had a bad cold for a week and has been sleeping a lot. Yesterday, having dressed, I started making the bed in my semi-stupor.
“Hey!... I’m still here!” she croaked from her side.
”Oooops!”

I used to be on autopilot like that before I started working from home. Sometimes I had driven halfway to work before I had truly woken up! Great drabble, and I wish Mrs. H a speedy recovery.

Thanks all from me...and Mrs H says thanks too from her and to let you know she's on the mend. Indeed, she was well enough today to drive over with me to see her 92 year old mother. I might have a relapse though! :-(
