The Advice Seeker

With two marriages gone and the third in trouble, he needs advice. Children from the first two neither meet nor speak to him. Any contact is formal, through letters... distant, unemotional, demanding. He is persona non grata.

He needs advice; he seeks advice. I joke that if 100 people gave him the same advice on what to do, he would do the complete opposite.

Nonetheless, he is a friend of very many years and, as friends do when asked, I give my advice. But the advice he wants is to support the decisions he's taken... and he's never taken mine.
