My chequered history

Lunch at Sale e Pepe, behind Harrods, with my account executive, an excellent, hardworking colleague who was also a particularly gorgeous young woman - just my type... I had to tread carefully. We were shown to our table near the window. Looked forward to a lovely lunch with an equally lovely companion.

Hopes were dashed when at the next table, with an attractive young woman, whom I knew was his secretary, was McB. This was difficult. We were great mates. The insinuations surfaced later though, and continue today, despite innocence all round.

The bread was fresh, the coincidence simply stale mate!
