'If there's one thing that I like, it's a burn up on my bike, a burn up with a bird up on my bike........ just for kicks, I ride all through the night, my bird hangs on in fright, when I do the ton for kicks....'
Oh to have written that. But I didn't.
I did write 'Marathon, comes up peanuts slice after slice'... sliced in the 'long run' when the brand became Snickers.
But my cautionary advice on TV for kids 'Matches, matches never touch, they can hurt you very much' ran and ran for years. A genuine marathon.

Thanks Drew. In truth, I adapted an American, slice-related slogan for Snickers to make it work better in UK (I almost said 'proper'!) English. Mine works better in both UK and US English anyway they slice it :-)
The COI matches TV ad ran and ran. A younger chap who worked with me said it shaped his life. Bullshitter! I gave the COI an alternative, which I preferred... 'Matches, matches, Welephant said, can burn you up and make you dead!' Powerful, but I'm not surprised they didn't choose it! :-)

There is a story behind one of the ads we made which is drabblable. I'll see what I can do.
