It was an all boy's school. This was good... no female distractions. Academic achievement high, Oxbridge achievement high, artistic stuff so-so! But we had the School Play at the late 18th Century Maddermarket Theatre, masquerading as an Elizabethan playhouse.

'Miss in Her Teens' by David Garrick was one of the productions. The tall boys got the male parts... those of more average height played ladies.

Bloody hell! Just when the hormones were headed south, I was a transvestite! Wig, beauty spots, stunning dress... I looked in the mirror and almost fancied myself! Thank goodness they didn't give me tits....

Thanks Drew. The headmaster's wife, an old battleaxe, did the costumes. Beautiful dresses and wigs, but she would never give the boys tits, which rather spoilt the look. She probably worried that it might give the other boys the wrong ideas! I'm sure I still have a photo of me...and another fast asleep as Sloth in Marlowe's Dr Faustus. But it was still a great laugh...

Sounds like you're very busy, Drew, but first things first, the Drablrs need you :-)
