Nancy was a headcase. Husband Dennis told her she wasn't right in the head as he beat her, carefully, where it wouldn't be seen. When she disappeared out of the blue, he was interviewed on TV, crying, begging her to come home. But local tongues wagged, and Dennis was interviewed again, by the police.
With no body, Nancy became a cold case, presumed dead. Without evidence, Dennis was released, but remained under a cloud.
It was strange; beatings aside, Dennis loved her. He missed her. She didn't miss him though. Right in the head. Dead!
And so was she, officially.

Hehehehe, I love this... serves the old bugger right! Me thinking this drabble needs a follow up, a twisted, machiavellian one... Ready for the challenge, Neville?
