Ducking and diving

Once, we had great fun in the pool all summer long, my daughter and me. We were the pariahs of the private club, walking across the pool on our hands, duck-diving for pennies, walking and swimming the floor at the deep end, plunging across the paths of other pool users, who boringly swam lengths, up and back.

She grew up. I didn't, but I had to act my age. Now I swim lengths, like the grown ups...

Until last week! Seven year old granddaughter, a strong swimmer, can outswim me.... but she liked all the other things better! Yeeha!
