It was a pretty 17th Century cottage in Suffolk. Wooden floors creaked everywhere and multiple old oak beams had housed successive generations of woodworms. Wren Cottage was a delight and my daughter, baby and his dad were holidaying there. We stayed nearby.

The delight for me was their small patio garden, not for itself, but for the small, but extremely heavily laden cherry plum tree. It was plum drop time! Every day, this small tree dropped hundreds of ripe plums. In three days I collected over 50lbs...

Plum gin, plum sauce, plum jam, plum pudding.... guess I'm completely plummed out!

You must be plum tired after gathering up that many plums!

Thanks both. The plum gin is now made, but 4 months must elapse before I can share it. I think, like the plum gin, I need to spend some time in a dark place... :-)
