They travel miles to the famous spots. Legend has it their's is the most beautiful sunset in the world. But this evening at dusk I proved them wrong (to myself).

Home alone with nothing but my music, I saw it. I travelled nowhere except to a west-facing window.

The sky was the bluest of blues. I watched in wonder. The clouds in the western sky provided the screen for the ebbing sun's projection. The intense pink set them against the blue, blue sky. Wondrous!

"It's not dark yet, but it's getting there" sang Dylan.

'Not too soon', I hoped.

Thanks very much, Jeff. It was totally by chance that the Dylan track came up on my playlist as the glory of the sunset was about to wane...highly appropriate and it was the first time I had thought about the words.

    Wonderful drabble, Neville.

And that's one of my favorite more recent Dylan songs, even though it came out in '97 which was 20 friggin' years ago! But that's still more recent than my two favorite albums of his, Bringing It All Back Home and Highway 61 Revisited, which were both released in 1965.

Thanks very much, Drew. I was truly moved. A pity Mrs H was at her mum's as sunsets are a passion of hers too. This one was special. It was kind of weird that the Dylan track came up when it did, or at all! It's not serendipity, but some other phenomenon I can't think of the name of right now.

Thanks too, Christopher. Not sure I have a favourite Dylan album; he's done so many great tracks over his career. I only discovered that one yesterday though and I have no idea how it popped up on Spotify. Spooky! :-)

I remember when that song came out. I feel like it was Dylan's confession that he knew he was drawing nearer to the end of his life. And yet 20 years later he's still kicking and making great music.
