Bust #1

by

The races started at 9.00. Well honed athletes had been converging on Henley for the Royal Regatta along with elegant slimline crafts. Oarsmen and women from 18 countries were eagerly waiting in pent up anticipation.

Meanwhile, 9 miles downstream, the crew of the Ryepeck struggled to get ignition - the battery as flat as a pancake. The inept and much embarrassed captain had fouled up again in his latest litany of boating disasters. Will nothing relieve him of his ever lengthening chain of misfortune on sea and water? They were never made for each other.

But the memories sweeten with retelling.

Posted on behalf of my great mate Steve, captain of the Ryepeck, who also wrote this brief tale of not so much misadventure, but of missed adventure.
