Superheroes

National Poetry Day
Here in the UK
Poets frantically write
While others just recite

100 words of verse
99 too many you curse
But cursing is a crime
Like the meter of my rhyme

While poets write of leaves
Afalling from the trees
I speak of superheroes
In one plus two round zeros

Batman and Robin there
With outside underwear
And Superman is next
With bright red Superkecks

And Wonder Woman too
With knickers of starry blue
Twirling and aflashin’
Committing crimes of fashion

Spiderman more or less
Shows decorum in his dress
Appearing on demando
But always goes ‘commando’!
