'Robin' alerted me with a scream at 01.45. "There's a bat in the room!" she shrieked.
On went the bedside Batlight. Sure enough, a bat on the wing.
Fearlessly, in trepidation, I slipped over to open the Batcave window. Total darkness outside. The bat, resting out of sight near my shirts, tried to fool me it had flown. Unbelieving, I grabbed my Batslippers below. Hurled them batwards.... Result! But batty flew round for ages, not flying out. Creeping over fearfully, I opened the Batwindow wider.
Bingo!
"It's gone, Robin!"
But Robin was checking under the Batcave duvet.
"My hero, Batman!"

No bats were harmed in this true life incident. Only a good night's sleep was sacrificed.

Thanks Lisa and Drew. It was last night and I was forced to be a 'hero'. Throwing the slippers was a bit cowardly, but I had to get it flying again, hopefully towards the large open window. It almost went out many times but clearly liked it in the room, goodness knows why, given the flying missiles. Of course, after the event I can (falsely) claim heroism!
