He said he'd played against her at a local hockey club match. He was marking her. My son never was a braggart, so we believed him. We believed him even more when he told us she beat him at every tackle, run and interception. She ran him ragged!
Last night we couldn't watch for fear we might jinx the team. We listened to the TV commentary from the kitchen. The result was a nail-biting 3 all. Time for an even more stressful penalty shoot-out.
And then there she was, sporting an Olympic Gold Medal!
No shame there, son!
