No Sherlock Holmes, but Homer fancied himself as a sleuth. He was well experienced but not very successful at running murder investigations.
This one was particularly gruesome. A young man had been killed. His body was found bludgeoned, stabbed and shot several times on some wasteland on the edge of town clutching a piece of paper containing an address.
‘Motive, means, opportunity’ were Homer’s watchwords. Motive: unknown. Means: club, dagger and pistol left at the crime scene. Opportunity: a dark secluded spot late at night. Clue: address, “No9, White Stick Yard.”
Homer ignored it. It was just a blind alley.
