Advertising's a glitzy business. Way back when, my new secretary was pretty classy. The way she spoke, the Rolls Royce bringing her to work, the house in Mayfair said it all. But she was good at her job and suffered me for a year.
I knew she knew HRH, but when she started going out with him, it was surprising. When she famously stormed out of a royal palace west of London, startling!
I had earlier thought forward that one day I might be able to tell the grandkids I was once the queen's boss, but 'twas not to be!

A witty story about a tragedy.

It probably would have been a tragedy if she had actually married him, as it was for the lady who did. However, my former secretary's 3 month relationship ended at that palace that night.

I love these slices of your life that you reveal to us in your drabbles, Neville. I know more about you than people I've worked with for years! Very well written and very entertaining, as usual.

Thanks, Christopher. I'm rather lucky in that I've had quite a few things happen in my life that fit well into drabbles. I have a rather good memory for them which is rather handy. It's nice to share them, but only if I can make them interesting. I'm doing my best, but to get really good denouements I probably need to revert to fiction!

You're doing just fine like you are, sir.
