Voter apathy was gripping Patty harder than ever these days. No repersentative sent over to D.C seemed to care about her pain.

Four kids and a disabled Husband made for long, cold nights and little food on the table the past few winters. No prospects for a better future was beginning to become ingrained.

Dignity

Patty lite a match and smoked a cigarette. The sweet aroma took her back to her younger days, filled with hope and promise before life became a burden...

A scream tore through the countryside. The Millers dialed 911 as Patty's problems went up in flames.

    Wow, bleak... I admire so much the pace with which you deliver this, each line is like an emotional hammer, until the last which feels like the exhale. Brilliant, beautiful

    I can only imagine the conversation at the Millers. I liked the last line. If only the Millers could have helped them earlier...
