A trip to the doctor with an aging parent can be an exercise in frustration. It taxes your physical and mental health. Imagine trying to explain to mom or dad why they should do what the doctor says and take their medications and not self-medicate because they think they know their situation better than the doctor. You begin to wonder if their behavior is God's way of getting back at you for all the times you were a problem growing up. Then you realize that it's not that, but God's way of showing you how much you were loved.

Well conceived, Michael. This strikes a chord, although we put it down to ma-in-law just continuing to be a real pain! :-)
