All my life I've been reminded by others of how different I am from them, but still I endeavor to co-exist, pursue my dreams, my goals, and live a relatively average life. I've tried to live and let live.

I'm neither a criminal nor an activist, but I'm made to feel like one while considering the other. I hold no ill-will toward others, but I'm made to feel the need to reconsider my feelings.

Beneath it all, I'm not that different from you, you, and you. So why do you feel you are that much different from me?

'Different is just different" is what a friend always says when she talks about her
special-needs daughter, whose excited greeting rivals that of my enthusiastic
dog; both love unconditionally. 'Wish we were more that way. Your drabble gives much thought.

People are people so why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully?
