David's feelings were now uncertain. He was aware the inevitable would happen, but was sure there was plenty of time to prepare. There had always been plenty of time, but now there wasn't much remaining. He could no longer take life for granted. He thought of his own mortality. One heart attack later, he had grown closer to accepting the brevity of life. He just never applied it to anyone other than himself, but life reminded him that no matter how long you lived it wasn't long enough.
Now that his father had cancer, he wasn't sure of anything anymore.

That dreaded "C" word. Whether it is fiction or not, there are survivors. There is some comfort in that.

Thanks. For me, this one is art reflecting real life.
