I Am Not to Blame

I dominate the sky and people stare in wonder. I envelope the hidden places and people marvel at what I reveal. People wear me and compliment each other on how well I make them look. I'm celebrated during times of financial good fortune.

Let something go wrong, and then I'm maligned and despised. When someone commits a heinous act, I'm often blamed as being a part of that person's soul. When added to the bouquet of humanity, I am the scapegoat. I am the excuse used to justify their unfounded hatred and fear of others. I am the color black.
