Reflections

Awakened by the blaring bedroom alarm clock, Ben fought gravity and dragged himself to the bathroom. He stared at himself in the full-length mirror. A naked middle-aged guy, whose youthfulness took a permanent vacation, stared back. He saw a guy whose once six pack abs now looked more like a keg. Ben viewed his profile and sadly saw the letter S his sister said he looked like. He sighed as forgotten youthful memories pushed their way forward in his mind. He dragged himself back to his room to begin the first day of the rest of his life.
