Hands and knees
I’d climb to the coco-nut trees,
Face to the cliff as the stones patter down,
Up, up, up, staggering, stumbling,
Up to the top where the six trees stand….
And there would I rest, and lie,
My chin in my hands, and gaze
At the dazzle of sand below,
And the green waves curling slow,
And the grey-blue distant haze
Where the sea goes up to the sky….
And I’d say to myself as I looked so lazily down at the sea:
“There’s nobody else in the world, and the world was made for me.”

Beautiful, Steve.

I know Christopher, but it’s really not me but AA Milne topped and toed to make it 100 letters. The Island is one of my favourite poems, probably my favourite!

I've never read that one but figured by the title it was based on something he wrote. Still beautiful, though. Drabbling is a talent that I wonder if some of the old masters would've been able to perfect.

Just noticed from my comment that I ‘toed’ it - that must have been painful!

Haha. I didn't catch that when I read the comment the first time.
