My earliest years are mostly a blank - they were surely so much richer. My childhood universe was so precious and formative and yet recall is sketchy. In a digital era of iPhone snaps, social media and zillion megabyte capacity today’s children will have a massive memory bank if they care to use it.
My personal revelation this Christmas came from watching young grandchildren and their cousins totally absorbed together for hours on end lost in real life role playing triggering memories until now deeply buried. The door to my own childhood swung further ajar and I liked what I saw.

This is really terrific, Steve. It really touches a nerve here.
