A Near Miss 🦀

He discovered the beer mat with her number on it. Was she keen or was it the drink talking?
She was fun so nothing to lose he rang her home. After an age a brusque voice answered. "Who's that may I ask?"
He mumbled "Is Liz there please?"
"No she isn't."
Instantly he realised that he'd used his current girlfriend's name so he slammed the phone down. An hour later he called again feigning a different voice.
"Is Viv there please?
"Yes, this is her mother I'll get her"
So ended the first encounter with his future mother-in-law.
