The one sister fought the other in childhood. One, thought the other was brighter, more outgoing and happier. The one sister wondered why and was angry, jealous about it. Their mother’s house sat vacant. The crabgrass and weeds were mowed once a month in the summer. The windows and roof leaked. The draperies were caked with dirt. A broken window in back. An ancient air conditioner was perched in another, silent now. The house had been bequeathed to both sisters. The other sister had made her life happy and successful. The one sister was going to fight the other, forever.
