Slippery, sliding creatures, these new year's resolutions. They tease and they tantalise with what might be, what could happen, how lives might change, but in the end, after they have burst into the world with such a bang on the stroke of midnight, they creep silently away a few days later, and it is as though they have never been.

Except for the air of disappointment and failure they leave behind, of course. The only evidence of their existence.

This year, she decides to wait for it to come, and when it does, she will be ready to destroy it.
