Take a look out o’er this landscape
Ne’er mind the dismal day
Thousands o’ English/Welsh folk
Are livin’ life their way
Some mayn’t meet approval
O’ the guv’nors darn South
A few’d far exceed them
In their financial clout
Someone’s gettin’ beaten up
Some others gettin’ wed
A few prayin’ to Mecca
While these are off their ‘eads
Already.
And we, what are we doing?
Just tryin’ fi get by
Tryin’ stuff, buyin’ stuff, we’ve enough
‘ve you and I.
Can I get to Widnes?
Aye, it’s all the way o’er there
Many rivers to cross though, to be fair

Love it Lewis! The mention of Widnes brings a smile to my face. One of my ad agency graduate trainees came from Widnes and she was very good, eventually moving on to be a director of probably the most well known ad agency. But her Widnes roots were never forgotten.

Thanks, Neville. I got this idea while driving in Shropshire and I could see right across Cheshire and over to Wales and thinking about the thousands of people doing whatever they might be doing on a Saturday afternoon.
