One year John had a new car when he took Vera and George on the annual nostalgic trip up north to the Durham Dales.
Vera settled in the back as George, who had never owned a car, sat next to the driver. As they made their way along the country lanes he not only admired the view but also the gleaming instruments on the dashboard.

As they hit the A1(M) he was enthralled by the comfort and the speed.

“Eh, John, cracking motor. I bet it’ll do 70,” he said.
“It is,” came the reply.
George tightened his seat belt.
