Todd was a lively lad and with his pals, Podgy and Squid, he ran riot on the tough housing estate. Their parents didn’t know where they were or where they’d been.

The school yard was their battleground where there were six fights everyday and they joined in. To bring some order the school introduced the notebook system: 6 times in the book resulted in the cane.

Many years later Todd bumped into the teacher.
“Ayup, Mr. Turner. Have you still got your book?”
“Yes Todd, but there’s no caning now.”
“ Kids of today. What can we do with them?”
