A record signing for Everton Amokachi was sidelined and was always on the bench. His dreams were shattered when an ‘injured player’ was picked for the cup semi final.

Sensing an opportunity he was ready when the player fell in agony. Using a believable fib he persuaded the coach he had been instructed to go on. The manager shouted in disbelief. Amokachi’s goals took them to the final and eventual winners. He was mobbed.
