I found my thrill on Blueberry Hill 26 years ago.

I didn’t find you. I knew where you were but a hundred miles away. I just had to rev up the engine to burn up those motorway miles and be with you.

The moon stood still as it waited for me to arrive. A grandad not a dad. My dream came true when I held you in my arms.

I need to tell you that though we are apart you are part of me still. Though we have more lovely thrills, when I found you I found my first thrill.

What a terrific parody and a lovely tribute to Laura. I bet she loves her grandad... and Blueberries! A really lovely drabble and a feeling I know, albeit not 26 years back. Nice one Brian.
