Today’s The Day

It was no ordinary day. As Melanie drew back the curtain she felt different. She was ready for the day but her body wasn’t. Her mind was in a whirl. She had been planning this day for months and now it was here.

It was a bright day. A sunny day. July was a special month. This year, though, it was like the first ever July. She had dressed carefully and appropriately for the event.

The tingle of anticipation and excitement was almost unbearable. Separated at birth she was going to meet her identical twin sister for the first time.
